Tomorrow . . next week . . ?
Missing
Guatemala

My return airline ticket reads "Seattle to Guatemala, May 24, 2012," but my doctor says "No way!" I tried to explain to him that I have already been in the States for 4 weeks and that I really miss Guatemala and that I am needed there, but he argued that they need me healthy and that I have to get this infection, that I didn't even know that had, cleared up before I go back to Guatemala. So last night I reluctantly phoned the airlines and postponed my ticket back to Guatemala, and today I will start the first of 10 days of intervenes antibiotic treatments. Not exactly what I had hoped for but this would be much more difficult to have done if I were in Guatemala.
This morning I phoned Guatemala and talked to several of my kids and although they feel bad that I will not be home tomorrow they seemed to understand and said that they are doing well and will be all right.
I just finished talking with Pat over the phone and she is going to go ahead with trying to get Mariam into Guatemala City for the surgery that is needed on the tumor that is located behind her eye. Mariam is having a lot more pain so we want to have this taken care of as soon as possible.
I am praying that in about 2 weeks I can be back at home in Guatemala but meanwhile family and friends hear in the USA are treating me very well. (I may have to loose some wight before they let me back on the airplane.)
James 4:13-15
Now listen, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money.” Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. Instead, you ought to say, “If it is the Lord’s will, we will live and do this or that.”
Goodnight,
Yours in Christ: Dick
